I am a mom of two amazing boys, a college professor and wife. I earned my MFA at Illinois State University and then earned a MAT in Education and have been an educator for K-12 & Higher Ed for the past 20 years. I have worked at Joliet Junior College for the past 8 years as a Professor of Art and I love my job. Both of my boys swim and play baseball, so you can usually find me at a baseball field or a pool on the weekends, or painting in my studio when I have the time.

My family has been involved with the LWSRA since 2021, when we moved to Manhattan, IL. My son has enjoyed the cooking, show choir, piano, swimming and basketball programs and absolutely loves the summer camps and fun trips that he takes with his friends and helpers. I wanted to get involved with the foundation because of the positive impact the LWSRA has had on my son and our family. We love it here. There are so many opportunities to grow and have fun and because of the inclusive and supportive environment, he has become more confident, social and well-rounded. I want to make sure that others have the opportunity as well and that the LWSRA can continue doing their amazing work.
