The I Can Du It! Adaptive Duathlon is an adaptive duathlon (a modified run-bike-run race) for children and young adults ages 4-30 with developmental disabilities and special needs. This year, the race will be hosted by BDI Playhouse Children’s Therapy and Lincolnway Special Recreation Association
Date: Sunday, September 13, 2026
Time: 8 a.m. to ~1 p.m. *End time is subject to change pending the final number of racer sign-ups (racer registration closing August 2026).
Volunteers are needed as:
● Race buddies *must be physically able to walk and/or run alongside racers walking, running, rolling, biking, etc., completing an entire 0.9 mile or 1.9 mile race course with 1 race participant. Please wear appropriate athletic clothing and footwear.
● Race course water station
● Bike station
● Food tent
● Race course monitors/cheer stations
● Parking attendants
● Greeters
● Floaters
Volunteers will also assist with race setup and cleanup. Please wear comfortable, athletic clothing and shoes. The race is held outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
We will have a rain date of September 20, 2026 if it is
decided that the weather will pose a safety risk.
