Adriel was welcomed to the LWSRA team in 2022 in his current role of Recreation Specialist overseeing Adapted Programs which focus on sports and social opportunities for individuals with physical or visual impairments. He joins LWSRA from the City of Houston Metropolitan Multi-service Center where he was a recreation specialist directing wheelchair rugby, air rifle, and other adapted sports. Adriel is one of the founders of the Houston Adapted Sports Club, a non-profit designed to provide adaptive sports and fitness opportunities for people with physical disabilities. He is also the head coach of the United States Special Operations Command wheelchair rugby team. He currently attends the University of Houston-Clearlake, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.
Adriel is a native Houstonian, growing up in the Houston area. In his spare time, Adriel enjoy fishing, outdoor sports, gaming. His favorite tv show is Seinfeld and has two dogs named Gunner and Frio. If he could be any superhero in the world, he would be Superman!
